Embrace Building Wraps make over the former Civic Centre

As part of the UK City of Culture celebrations an event space is being created in Coventry on the land where the former council offices once stood and where the Civic Centre 2 building is also located.

The elevations of the existing wooden site hoarding along Little Park Street, Earl Street and Much Park Street have been dressed in 285 metres of printed site hoardings. The designs were created by Coventry University and showcase a storyline in text and pictures that highlight numerous aspects of Coventry and Coventry University’s heritage and contribution to society over the years.

The Grade II listed section of the Civic Centre 2 has also been protected by scaffolding and then covered in a 1,400 m2 printed scaffold wrap installed over a bespoke offset frame. The building wrap seamlessly spans across all four elevations of the building and was digitally printed with a design showcasing CGI images of the future hub for academic and research facilities.

Aidan O’Gara, Project Director at Kavannagh Construction said:

Working with the Embrace team has been a breeze. Detailed quotes, extremely helpful guides on how the wrapping process would work and great communication throughout. It was a case of giving them the instruction and they just got on with it! They kept us informed on who was going to be on site, what they were going to be doing and when. With no issues whatsoever, the project ran like clockwork. We are enormously happy and most importantly, so is our client.

Greg Forster, Managing Director at Embrace Building Wraps, said:

We are delighted to be working with Kavannagh Construction and Coventry University on this incredibly exciting project. The printed site hoarding graphics combined with the building wrap above have completely transformed the area. The whole space looks sensational in readiness for the series of events later in the year.
