Delivering scale, precision, and sustainability at the British Grand Prix

Silverstone has been at the heart of British motorsport for decades. In fact, the historic circuit delivered it all over the past 70 years as home to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. In early July 2025 the track was again packed with a sell-out crowd enjoying a four-day festival of racing and entertainment. By focusing on Silverstone’s biggest fan zones, Embrace helped turn the entire venue into a promotional powerhouse. Embrace Building Wraps was honoured to play a major role in this year’s event. The iconic Luffield Corner grandstand, along with the two Abbey grandstand sections, were dressed head-to-toe in huge, vibrant printed banners. These prime spectator platforms were enlivened by Embrace’s eye-catching graphics, transforming the venue into a living advertisement visible across the circuit. We provided a fully-managed, end-to-end service for the project. Our work included everything from initial site surveys and structural engineering checks, through design and material selection, to large-format printing and on-site installation. Specifically, Embrace handled:

  • Structural surveys and engineering assessments to ensure the stands could bear the banners safely.
  • Specification of fixings and materials (high-performance, flame-retardant mesh PVC).
  • Specialist wide-format printing of each banner with in-house UV printers.
  • Precise installation using custom wireframe mounting systems.
  • Responsible removal and disposal, sending old vinyl to recycling or energy recovery

The final wraps were truly monumental in scale. The Luffield Corner banner alone spanned the rear and both sides of the structure, measuring 105 metres wide by 6 metres tall. Abbey B (the larger of the two Abbey stands) was wrapped in a 156m × 3.5m display, while Abbey A received a 55m × 6.7m banner. Each graphic was printed on high-performance mesh PVC for durability and vivid colour. For Luffield and Abbey B – both too large to fit on one sheet – we printed each wrap in two panels and seamlessly joined them with a fully-printed vertical cover strip.

Installation was executed with precision. Embrace engineers custom-built wireframe systems to fit the unique geometry of each stand, then the crews lifted and tensioned the banners into place panel by panel. Technicians used winches and turnbuckles to pull each banner taut and smooth. To complete the high-impact look, we added 2.4-metre-tall red mesh panels along the base of the Luffield Corner stand to mask the structure’s underside. The project was delivered on time and on budget – the hallmark of an Embrace installation.

“We are delighted to be invited back to Silverstone to deliver such a high-profile grandstand wrap,” said Greg Forster, CEO of Embrace. “The British Grand Prix is so much more than a race…so on-site branding is a dynamic way to connect with the fans.” He added that the Embrace team enjoyed every challenge of this project, from engineering and printing to hanging the final banners.

In keeping with both Embrace’s and Silverstone’s sustainability goals, all materials will be responsibly handled after the event. Banners can be reused next year or recycled – with wrap materials ultimately sent for waste-to-energy conversion or other reuse. Embrace will also fund the planting of 1,600 new trees in its global forest program, adding to the 520 trees pledged in 2024. This keeps the project’s net environmental impact as green as the Silverstone lawns it adorns.

With this British Grand Prix installation, Embrace Building Wraps once again demonstrated its expertise in delivering massive, precision-engineered graphics for live events. The result is a memorable, striking visual experience for fans – and proof that Embrace remains a fast-moving force in event branding.
