Audi, Silverstone
THE LOCATION
Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire has been the proud home of the British Grand Prix since its first race in 1948. The Luffield Corner, Village (A & B) and Becketts grandstands are among the track's largest spectator areas, offering wide sightlines over critical corners and straights. These stands draw huge crowds every year, making them prime locations for on-site advertising and immersive branding. By covering the scaffolding here with large-format graphics, even routine facilities become an eye-catching part of the Silverstone spectacle.
THE BRIEF
In summer 2026 Audi commissioned Embrace to wrap several Silverstone grandstands with high-impact branding. The campaign creative (by BBH London) features a bright red Audi RS graphic and a stylised tyre-track forming the four-ring logo – a design that needed to "pop" from every angle. Audi's goal was to cover the side and rear façades of the Becketts, Luffield and Village stands with vibrant, durable mesh banners for a long-term display running through 2026 into 2027. Embrace provided a fully managed, turnkey solution – coordinating with Silverstone's team and the client, finalising materials and engineering, and handling all design, printing and installation logistics. With race weekend deadlines looming, every banner had to be engineered, printed and fitted in the week before the event, so close collaboration and careful scheduling were essential.
THE SOLUTION
Embrace delivered an end-to-end solution built on precision engineering and quality materials. Our team began with detailed site surveys and structural assessments at each stand. Engineers measured the exact scaffold geometry and calculated wind loads to custom-design metal frame supports and fixings for each wrap. We specified flame-retardant, open-weave mesh PVC for the banners (meeting Silverstone's safety standards), so wind can pass through the material without tearing the print. All graphics were printed in-house on wide-format UV printers. Where a grandstand's banner exceeded one sheet, we printed it in adjacent panels and joined them on site: technicians fitted the panels edge-to-edge and applied a matching printed cover strip over each seam, making the joint virtually invisible and preserving the continuity of the artwork. After printing, every banner was checked for colour registration and alignment to ensure a flawless final image.
The installation itself was equally meticulous. Technicians assembled custom wireframe supports around the target stands and then lifted each mesh panel into place one by one. Panels were attached at the top and tensioned downward using ratchet tensioners and turnbuckles, pulling the vinyl taut and eliminating wrinkles. We followed a "belt-and-braces" approach to secure the banners in British weather: horizontal buffer rails were fitted behind the wraps to prevent wind blow-back, and sturdy "dragon tail" straps were welded to the rear edges to absorb outward force. All perimeter fixings were equipped with thick rubber padding to guard against punctures, and the rope edges were reinforced and equipped with heavy-duty eyelets. Heavy-duty bungee cords and carabiners then tensioned the banners to the wireframe. Where adjacent wraps met (for example between Village A and B), we added invisible printed cover flaps with Velcro joins to conceal the tie-downs and maintain the seamless appearance. Even the seating chart was printed directly on the mesh, aligning seat numbers on the covers with the actual stands. Finally, Embrace set up a planned maintenance programme for the duration of the display, inspecting the installations regularly to tighten any slack and clean the graphics if needed.
- Fully engineered frame supports and custom design for each grandstand scaffold.
- Horizontal buffer rails behind each wrap to stop wind lifting the banners.
- Welded "dragon tails" on rear edges to reduce force on the frame.
- Thick rubber guards on all protruding fixings to prevent punctures.
- Heat-welded rope edges with heavy-duty metal eyelets at every corner.
- Overlapping panels joined with fully-printed covers for a seamless image.
- Heavy-duty bungee cords looped onto carabiners, tensioned to the wireframe.
- Hidden cover flaps (with Velcro) where separate wraps meet, preserving the artwork's integrity.
- Seat numbers and markers printed directly on the mesh to match the grandstand layout.
- A scheduled maintenance plan to keep the wraps clean, taut and secure throughout the season.
This level of detail ensured that the wraps stayed absolutely stable and visually flawless, even through winter storms, high winds or heavy rain. The bright red Audi RS and tyre-ring motif truly command attention from every angle. As Embrace CEO Greg Forster notes, "the creative truly pops on these grandstands" – turning the structures into bold, eye-catching billboards for Audi.
With quality and precision at the core, all four grandstand wraps were installed to exact specification and strict deadlines. Embrace completed the project on schedule and within the agreed budget, with no compromises on safety or appearance. After the display period ends, our commitment continues: Embrace will remove the mesh banners and responsibly handle the materials. Any sections fit for reuse will be kept for future events, and the remaining PVC will be sent to a UK recycling facility (to be repurposed into products like traffic cones). This closed-loop approach reflects Embrace's environmental pledge. Moreover, in line with our long-standing climate action promise, we will fund the planting of over 1,000 new trees in our global forest to offset this campaign's footprint. In short, Audi's Silverstone wrap was a resounding success – delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards, while also meeting our sustainability commitments.
