22 Ropemaker 2022

THE DEVELOPMENT 22 Ropemaker is a ground-breaking £240 million development – the largest ever seen in the Islington Borough. The commercial property, located in the City of London near Moorgate tube and Elizabeth line entrance, will provide 25 floors of commercial space.

Construction is well underway by Skanska, which will ultimately deliver office space spanning over 400K square feet (including the new home for law firm Linklaters), a stunning double-height lobby, retail space and five roof terraces.

THE BRIEF The Embrace team had previously fully managed, printed and installed an offset two-level printed cabin wrap at 22 Ropemaker to disguise temporary accommodation. This remains in situ along with our branded staircase wraps for Skanska.

We were invited to return to wrap the painted site hoarding across three elevations, an additional raised hoarding and a scaffold gantry. Our brief was to disguise the unsightly works, transform the environment and feature branded creative to promote the property to traffic passing by.

THE SOLUTION Embrace prepared ACM printed site hoarding graphics to wrap over 280 linear metres at street level with a non-standard three metre height – 25% taller than most hoarding. An additional 30m stretch was readied for installation at a difficult to access higher level.

Our planning had to accommodate operative entrances, two sets of bifold vehicular access gates, loading bays and scaffold tower legs across the three adjoining runs of hoarding. Our surveys were conducted with pinpoint accuracy to ensure that every panel would fit like a glove.

We also developed the printed PVC scaffold wrap to cover the scaffold gantry, tying the whole package together to deliver the most impactful solution.

Whilst on site for the install we mainly worked out of hours to avoid creating disruption. A scissor list was deployed for secure access to the raised cladding component.

The end result performs as the most powerful custom billboard for 22 Ropemaker using our client’s design, providing a glimpse of the building’s excellence to potential businesses. And as you would expect with our expertise, this complex solution was managed end-to-end by Embrace on time and to budget including planning, printing and installation.
