THE DEVELOPMENT A new 25 storey commercial property worth £240 million is under construction at 20 and 22 Ropemaker Street. The development is located near Moorgate tube station, just north of the new Crossrail entrance in the City of London.
The existing buildings at the location have been demolished in readiness for the construction of the mixed-use commercial scheme by Skanska which will feature almost 420,000 square feet of office space across 22 floors, five accessible roof terraces, and double-height entrance, lobby & 12,000 square feet of retail space.
This is the largest ever scheme in the London Borough of Islington and will also become the new global HQ for law firm Linklaters, relocating after 30 years.
THE BRIEF Our brief was to end-to-end project manage, print, and install a giant printed wrap to the top two rows of temporary cabins used for accommodation at the development. The wrap would transform the streetscape and promote the development and future office space availability.
THE SOLUTION With our complete service we were able to fully plan the ideal solution for our client – in this instance the use of offset frame to support the cabin wrap. Following a site survey, we arranged the structural calculations with our client’s engineers before coordinating the wrap design with the creative agency. We also digitally printed the 6 metre high and 29 metre wide wrap ourselves.
Embrace managed the entire process including local council liaison, road closures and traffic management, activity on site with the cabin providers, main contractor and MEWPs (mobile elevated work platforms) suppliers.
Installation took place over two consecutive weekends – on the first we installed the supporting offset frame, and on the next we returned to secure the printed wrap in place.
The contemporary minimalist artwork is on brand and features messaging advertising availability, key stakeholders & contacts whilst also detailing the future property as the new global HQ for Linklaters.
The development, completing in 2023, promises ‘timeless quality, quality time’ – fitting as our quality cabin wraps were delivered on time (and to budget).
