Allum & Sidaway, Salisbury

THE DEVELOPMENT Allum and Sidaway are a leading independent jeweller, established in 1942 and now operating five stores across the country. The prominent store in the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury in Wiltshire is also home to a bridal boutique and showroom.

THE BRIEF External refurbishment works to the property exterior required the installation of unsightly scaffolding across all three aspects of the store frontage.

Embrace were appointed to provide a complete project managed service to develop, design and install a printed scaffold wrap. This would cover a section of the scaffolding to ensure the store could still clearly be seen to minimise disruption and loss of trade, using an environmentally responsible solution.

THE SOLUTION Following site survey, the Embrace team designed the diamond encrusted creative to promote the jewellery and bridal showroom operations in a manner completely consistent with the brand look and feel.

To ensure the banner is eco-responsible we utilised our new non-PVC substrate, comprising a heavy-duty textile that is suitable for high quality digital print. When the banner does come down the base material can be offered for reuse as coverings in the agricultural sector and then ultimately processed to create energy-from-waste, unlike PVC which is more environmentally harmful and is usually sent to landfill.

With our expertise the banner was produced and digitally printed in one giant piece, measuring 54 metres long by 4.5 metres tall. This would then be installed to wrap around all three sides of the property without needing to be joined.

For installation, the wrap was directly face-fixed to the bullnose scaffold with great care taken to manage a void area enabling lighting from an adjacent lamppost and also a splayed corner. To complete the professional aesthetic, we wrapped the returns at the two extremities of the banner so it could actually be seen from five different directions around the store.

The project, as you would expect with Embrace, was completed on time and to budget and our client awarded us 6 out of 5 stars for our service!
