THE DEVELOPMENT Cleveland Clinic is a leading provider of specialised medical care in the world. The 198,000 square foot Cleveland Clinic London hospital will open in 2021 with 205 patient beds, allowing the Cleveland Clinic to expand its global footprint and care for more patients than ever.
The location is 33 Grosvenor Place, close to Buckingham Palace. The former office building is undergoing development and has previously been fully covered in a building wrap by Embrace during earlier stages of construction and development. The new hospital will be Cleveland Clinic’s first European facility and one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the UK.
THE BRIEF As the construction works are nearing completion the original façade is now visible once more, however the property is surrounded by unsightly site hoarding at street level. This necessary evil is unfortunately always ugly unless site hoarding graphics are employed.
Embrace were brought on board once again to transform the streetscape and present a premium and appealing environment despite the disruption hidden behind. The client also wanted to make the most of the potential of the opportunity by using the creative design to tell the story and history of the Cleveland Clinic.
THE SOLUTION Embrace were able to provide a complete end-to-end service for our client, starting by processing the planning application and secure the display advertising licence as required in the area.
Our client provided the creative artwork and Embrace undertook the digital printing and full installation.
The final solution extended for 250 linear metres across the front and two returns around the property including an encapsulated pedestrian tunnel with access points. The site hoarding graphics stand 2.4 metres tall.
We specified an ACM DIBOND® substrate with a high gloss finish which is discretely attached to the standard hoarding to cover it seamlessly. Our specifications ensured a high quality digital print finish and we also utilised a protective clear film overlay for maximum durability and protection from the elements and vandalism.
We take care of every detail, right down to the colour matching of caps to disguise screw hole securing points and brand contrast colour kickers, headers and corner trims.
The main roadside messaging tells the story:
“Ranked among the top hospitals in the world, Cleveland Clinic provides specialised medical care to over two million patients every year.”
Inside the tunnel pedestrians are treated to more details of the Cleveland Clinic brand, themed around the cornerstones of quality, teamwork, technology and heritage of innovation – each with matching imagery to bring the story to life.
The project was completed to budget – something which Embrace guarantee – and on time, elevating the street for our client and welcoming their new neighbours and passers-by.
